Friday Debate

Every Friday, we will be taking a break from our quick write (daily writing practice that focuses on different forms of writing; letters, lists, paragraphs, persuasive pieces,...) and work on debates. Thanks to our parent council we have a wonderful collection of magazines (both online and in paper copy) from scholastic. There are various articles that promote independent thinking of "hot topics"/exciting relevant topics.
Our first discussion was on whether treats should be allowed to be brought to school for special occasions. Definitely a relatable subject today, on Valentines Day!
